Work can be hard—especially when you’re a Christian and feel like your calling is so much bigger than the job you’re in right now. It’s tough to find peace in roles that don’t seem to align with your purpose, whether it’s in corporate jobs or anything else you do just to make a living. For me, it’s been a constant struggle to balance the things I’m passionate about with the things I have to do to survive.
Honestly, I don’t have all the answers. Right now, I’m in a season where working feels more like a burden than a blessing. Showing up to a job every day when you’re unhappy with what you’re doing is exhausting. And the worst part? Changing jobs doesn’t always solve the problem. It often feels like the same cycle repeating itself—different place, same frustration.
I think there comes a point where we have to decide what we’re okay with doing and what we’re not. For me, I’m starting to realize the importance of making those decisions and standing by them. This season has forced me to lean on my faith in Christ in a way I haven’t before. It’s taught me to believe in the big dreams He’s placed in my heart, even when they feel impossible.
There are days when I look at the things I feel called to do—the things that bring me real joy—and they seem so far out of reach. But then I remind myself: we serve a big God. A God who created the universe. If He can do that, He can surely do more than I can imagine in my own life.
I think the first step is deciding to trust Him. To stop focusing on what feels impossible and start believing that He’s capable of making it happen. And then, we have to take steps—big or small—toward those things He’s called us to do.
If you’re in a season like this, struggling to find peace in your work and wondering how to move forward, know that you’re not alone. This isn’t easy, but I believe God is with us, even in the in-between. He’s guiding us, teaching us, and preparing us for something greater.
So, let’s keep trusting Him. Let’s decide what we’re willing to do and what we’re not, and let’s believe—really believe—that He has something better in store for us.
